Deacon Steven Anderson is married with three children and Saturday he will become Lansing’s first Catholic Priest to be happily wed.
Anderson was an Episcopalian Pasteur who was allowed to marry, but decided to pursue the Catholic faith in 1999.
He studied Catholicism and petitioned local officials to allow him into the priesthood.
Interviews, letters to Bishops and approval from the Pope gave Anderson the special permission he needed to achieve his goal.
He is one of three priests to be ordained this weekend.
Anderson will minister at Holy Family Church in Grand Blanc, MI.
