Nathaneal Loyd Mann was arraigned on two felony counts that could mean life in prison for the 22-year-old. Police say the charges stem from a plot to hire someone to kill his girlfriend and pay for the murder by robbing a bank drop box.

Jackson Police say they apprehended Mann Sunday at a Kroger in Jackson after they were given the information from the gentlemen Mann solicited to kill his girlfriend.

Police say Mann offered $500 to kill his girlfriend.

Prosecutors say Mann planned to pay the murder contract with funds he would steal from a business attempting to deposit funds in a after-hours bank drop box.

The court scheduled a meeting between Mann’s attorney and prosecutors for July 3.
