Potterville Revisited

It's one year later and the memories of Memorial Day are still engraved in the hearts and minds of Potterville residents.

It was this time last year that a Canadian National train derailed. The derailment forced 2,200 residents to evacuate their homes and neighborhoods.

Crews worked day and night to clean up explosive liquid propane and toxic sulfuric acid leaking from several cars. Investigators say a break in the track was to blame for the accident.

One year later, residents say stories are still being passed around as to where they were on that day.

If there is one positive to take away from the accident, residents say it brought the community closer and more recognition to the town of Potterville.
