A first for CATA in Lansing today. The transit authority unveiled its first hybrid buses today.
The diesel-electric busses cost more, but they also get better mileage per gallon, are better for the environment and should be more enjoyable for riders.
CATA Director Sandy Draggo says, "I think one of the things people will really see and feel is the driver doesn't have to use the brake on them. It will be a much smoother ride. They're speedier, they will flow with traffic much better."
You can find the buses on regular routes beginning August 21.
