First responders from nearly 60 Ford and Vistion plants around the nation tested each other's emergency response skills at Michigan State University's pavilion Wednesday afternoon.
Groups fought a simulated blaze in an enclosed space. They also worked on focus and precision with their water hoses.
Teams from Ypsilanti, Wixom and Wayne, Michigan competed against people from Canada, Illinois, Ohio, New Jersey, and several other states. They tested their ability to save victims from confined spaces and high rise situations.
Organizers say workers are now better prepared for industrial accidents inside their plants, but their training has also prepared them in case of another terror attack on U.S. soil.
