East Lansing Police say the United Vans Line truck was traveling northbound when the driver didn't anticipate backed up traffic from construction. Police say the driver slammed on the brakes. Wet roads from afternoon rains helped to jack-knife the truck, which slammed into both guardrails before tipping the cabin on it's side.
The driver and two passengers were taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
Haz-mat then worked to control a diesel fuel spillage.
After clean-up was complete, 127 was reopen to traffic before 10-pm.
The driver of the semi was cited for careless driving.
No other vehicles were involved in the accident.
