A WILX News 10 poll released Wednesday shows 47 percent of voters say they'd back Democratic Governor Jennifer Granholm if the election were held today.
Meanwhile, 44 percent back G-O-P challenger Dick DeVos and 9 percent were undecided.
In June, 46 percent said they'd back DeVos and 44 percent said they'd back the governor, with 10 percent undecided.
In the latest survey among the all important female and independent subgroup, Governor Granholm wins women 44-32. Challenger DeVos wins men 45-35. They tie for women under 40. She wins women over 40.
Both polls were conducted by EPIC-M-R-A for WILX News 10.
For the first time EPIC-M-R-A tosse ASKED a question about Amway, the corporation Devos used to run. It showed significant negatives and pollster Ed Sarpolous thinks it could be significant in a close race.
Each surveyed 600 likely voters statewide and had a margin of sampling error of plus or minus 4 percentage points. The latest poll was conducted July 19 through Tuesday, while the earlier poll was conducted June 13 through 20.
