Consumers Energy transferred more than 1,000 of it's customers to different substations after a local unit failed Thursday afternoon putting much of the city in the dark.
Consumers is also working on installing a mobile substation, which should restore power for the remaining 3,000 customers still without.
The original substation could be prepared within the next few days. But, once the mobile substation is up and running - hopefully 5:00 AM Friday - everyone should have uninterrupted service once again.
