18 YEAR OLD DAN TREVINO WAS A COMMON DROP OUT STORY. BUT, THEN HE HEARD ABOUT LANSING COMMUNITY COLLEGE'S HIGH SCHOOL DIPLOMA COMPLETION INTIATIVE.
Trevino, " I called, and I'm one of the 45 they accepted."
Dr. Stan Chase, "The drop out rates in our area could be lower."
DR. STAN CHASE WAS BROUGHT ON BOARD TO GIVE THOSE DROP OUTS A SECOND CHANCE
Chase "Out of school at least 6 months, between 16 and 20 years old"
FUNDING BY A PORTION OF THE FOUNDATION GRANT, THE PROGRAM IS COMPLETELY FREE TO STUDENTS.

ONCE ENROLLED, STUDENTS TAKE COLLEGE COURSES... FOR COLLEGE CREDIT... WHICH ALSO GOES TOWARDS THEIR DIPLOMAS
Chase, "This is a way for them to catch up"
AND THEY LEARN WITH PEIRS IN THE SAME SITUATION
Trevino, " We're all in the same boat"
