A Lansing State Journal newspaper carrier calls 911 to report a house fire and is credited with saving the lives of a Lansing couple sleeping inside.
A fire broke out at the Cabot Drive home around 3 a.m. Monday morning. It's believed, around midnight, lightning hit a tree in the backyard, traveled down a wire being used as a dog chain and traveled into the home. The couple inside awoke to firefighters inside their living room.
The newspaper carrier who made the 911 call did not wish to be interviewed for this story. Tim Foltz, the man whose life was most likely saved by that call, wants him to know he's thankful he made the call.
