Grace Haven, a homeless shelter in Jackson, is currently in need of about $70,000 if it wants to stay open. According to Executive Director, Billie Oliver, the money goes towards paying staff, buying food, paying the utilities, water bill, garbage bill, telephone bill, and repairs. And if the shelter doesn't raise enough funds, it may have to close its doors this week.
"It's hard to see this happen to people and then I can't do anything to help them. They're going to have to live on the streets. They're going to have to live under the bridge. They're going to have to live in the parks."
The facility is asking the public to donate anything it can. If you'd like to give, you can send a check to Grace Haven at 1040 Francis Street Jackson, MI 49203. You can also call Oliver at 517-782-2980 if you'd like more information. All donations are tax deductible.
