"It has potential to be one of the biggest games of the decade."
A game that has the city of East Lansing and Spartan nation in a frenzy.
"it's going to be crazy," said MSU Senior Ellie Price. "We've got a lot of people coming in. A lot of tailgaters out there."
Tailgaters who think there's something magical about this season.
"This year MSU actually has a chance to beat Ohio State."
Something the Spartans haven't done since 1999 when they won 10 games and went to the Citrus Bowl. And while some are still afraid of a mid-season Spartan collapse, many say this time is different.
"We're true believers," said senior Brandon Deane. "Everyone's very excited. We're not going to cave in."
That spirit seems to be infectious throughout town. Some even made a special trip for the game.
"We like to see the Spartans beat the buckeyes."
Albert Enany came in from Pennsylvania to catch the action.
"People are real high on this team," he said. "We came in for homecoming but I think actually there's more excitement this weekend than at homecoming."
And if you want a ticket, be prepared to pay. The game's sold out so you won't pay face value. Freshman Andrew Harte thought about selling his for extra cash.
"Season tickets are $150 and you can sell this game for almost 100 so that's two-thirds of the cost right there. But I won't miss it. I'll be there cheering the Spartans on."
As for area businesses, they'll have more staff on hand and some bars are evening opening a few hours early.
"We'll have a full serving staff, dining staff, bartenders," said Buffalo Wild Wings Manager Aaron Weiner. "Pretty much a full game-day staff all the way around. We're rented some extra chairs and extra tables as well."
