It's hard for drivers not to be excited about gas prices that just keep going lower, lower, and lower.
"It's better than paying a dollar and half more like last month so it's pretty cool," Driver, Rick Perkins says.
And the relief is already being felt.
"I drive to the YMCA everyday and it makes a difference," Rose Furr says.
And though gas is as cheap as $2.82 in Jackson County, the hope for cheaper is never ending.
"I'm pushing for $1.75 a gallon," a Lansing resident says.
And while it would certainly be nice to see a gas station sign read something that was under the two dollar mark, Bill McCullough from AAA says the chances of that happening are still pretty slim.
"We've seen some spikes and we've seen some drops and you know we've been on a roller coaster," McCullough says.
And while cheap gas, like the stuff we were filling our tanks with in the early 2000's was great, it's return may not be a possibility.
"I don't see us going back to those days," McCullough says.
McCullough suggests all drivers do the same things they've been doing to save money.
"We've seen the trend that people are driving less and thus they're helping with keeping the demand down," McCullough says.
