Humvees Stolen From Detroit Armory

It took a bit of work for thieves to steal three Humvees from a Michigan Army National Guard armory in Detroit.

The thieves scaled two barbed-wire-topped fences at the Olympia Armory and cut thick chains securing the steering wheels.

But the hulking Humvees couldn't be hidden.

A Humvee stolen Sunday was spotted by police Monday on the city's west wide. Two youths riding inside it fled, but the 15-year-old driver was charged in juvenile court with receiving stolen property and driving without a license.

Two Humvees stolen last month also were found but no arrests were made. Thieves used one to smash into a store.
