One hundred percent of the money raised during this weekend's Children's Miracle Network telethon will go directly to Sparrow Regional Children's Center. And according to organizer Lisa Weber the funds will help with a new facility.
"Part of the money that's raised will go towards the expansion of our west wing. A portion of that wing will be the pediatric emergency room."
And the more than $17 million Sparrow has raised since joining CMN in 1987 has gone towards special facilities specifically for children.
Regional Children's Center Medical Director, Dr. Stephen Guertin, says "The Children's Miracle Network has been the way in which we built a Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, a Regional Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, and two rehab buildings."
The telethon begins Friday night at 9 p.m. on WILX. If you'd like to make a donation you can click on www.sparrowfoundation.org.
