Two Michigan State University students were suspended after participating in disturbances last weekend in East Lansing.
MSU says similar action is pending against eight other students. It says the students violated regulations and policies.
The suspensions could last anywhere from a semester to several years.
Disturbances in the streets following two Michigan State basketball games early Saturday morning and Sunday evening led to a total of 25 arrests, $40,000 worth of property damage and a serious head injury to a 21-year-old woman.
