The Albion man accused of setting a Jackson apartment building on fire is formally charged.
Twenty-three-year-old Montez Motley remains in jail on arson charges.
Police say Motley started three fires at the Starr Apartment Building on Second Street Sunday.
They say he was upset because a woman who lived in the building rejected his request for a date.
Police used witnesses’ descriptions to catch Motley.
The fire caused about $50,000 in damages. No one was hurt.
