Most parents worry about their children using illegal drugs like cocaine and marijuana. However there's a new concern, harmless cold medications are being abused by teens and have even been linked to several deaths.

An ingredient in several over the counter cough and cold medications is Dextromethorphan or DXM, which has become popular among kids looking to get high.

Coricidin cough and cold, what many call the 3 C's, is the stuff teens are using. It can become addictive.

Schering Plough the maker of Coricidin acknowledges abuse is a problem and it is working with organizations to raise awareness about the dangers of incorrectly using over the counter medications.
