County Vows Prosecution for MSU Mayhem

Ingham County Prosecutor, Stuart Dunnings III, says his office plans to punish those involved in crimes in this past weekend’s Michigan State University Disturbances. He says it’s essential to show that, “people who engage in this activity will not be protected by the anonymity of the crowd.”

Students celebrated early Saturday and Sunday in reaction to M.S.U’s mens basketball team.

More than 20 were arrested for offenses such as malicious destruction, many of them M.S.U. students.

Dunnings says total damages to the university, city and business could be split among those who committed a crime in connection with the celebration.

He also said authorities could use independent video and media footage to identify law-breakers not yet charged.
