The Michigan Retailers Association (MRA) released a study saying retailers believe they’ll benefit most from an end to the war with Iraq.
The study says that 52 percent of Michigan retailers believe their sales will increase in the month ahead with 26 percent forecasting flat sales compared to a year ago.
Larry Meyer, Chairman and CEO of the MRA said that a resolution to the conflict and strength in the stock market could lead to an economic turn-around.
The optimism comes on the heels of the U.S. Consumer Confidence Index hitting its lowest level since 1993.
