An electronic voting tabulator broke down during the August 5th primary election in Delhi Township. Township Clerk Evan Hope says about 20 ballots cast at the Holt High School North Campus were inserted in the machine's alternate bin. They were counted about an hour later when a new machine was brought in.
Hope says it's not uncommon for the machines to break down, especially in hot weather with high humidity. So far about 260 people have votes at the precinct. Hope says very low voter turnout made it easy to switch out the machine. He says all voters have been accommodated and no one was turned away.
