A driver who police and witnesses say didn't stop for a red light is blamed for an accident Sunday afternoon in Lansing. Three people are in the hospital with serious to critical injuries.
At about 1:30 p.m., police say a 21-year-old man drove his car through a red light at the intersection of Michigan Ave. and Pennsylvania. It collided with a sport utility vehicle with a male and female inside.
Police say the driver of the car that went through the light is in critical condition.
According to witnesses, the driver was going at speeds of up to 100 mph.
Michigan Ave. was closed for about five hours during the investigation and removal of the wreckage.
The case will now be brought to the Ingham County Prosecutor's office to determine any charges.
It is still unclear as to why the driver ran the red light.
