Can Cities Enforce Fireworks Ordinances?

In many cities and townships, there are only three days to legally shoot off fireworks: July 3, 4 and 5.

But that hasn't stopped people from igniting them ahead of the holiday. Some people in Mid-Michigan are complaining about the noise.

Lansing Mayor Virg Bernero says fireworks violations are difficult to catch and a lower priority for police.

So is it really possible to enforce the fireworks ordinances? News 10's Lorne Fultonberg poses that question tonight at 11.
