Parishioners at All Saints Episcopal Church are examining their faith to find answers about war. Sunday Reverend Clayton Thomason led a discussion looking at the "Just War" Theory.
He told the audience that the Christian tradition is one of non-violence, but there are certain circumstances that call for war as a necessary evil. The theory says war is morally acceptable if there is a just cause and purpose. War must also cause more harm than good.
Anglican church leadership says at this point, there is not enough evidence to justify war. Parishioners at All Saints were divided on the issue. Some say a war is inevitable. Yet others feel there isn't enough proof of the necessity of a war.
Thomason says it is an ongoing moral debate.
