Every collect phone call is recorded and visiting rooms are monitored, but when an inmate meets with his or her attorney in the Ingham County Jail, it's in private.
During day 12 of Tim and Lisa Holland's preliminary hearing, Prosecutors presented a taped conversation Tim had with his adoptive mother while he was meeting with her in a visiting room in the jail. In the conversation, Tim says Lisa killed Ricky.
After hearing the tape, Judge Rosemarie Aquilina ordered that from this point forward, Tim and Lisa are to be brought to non-recorded rooms and be allowed to use secure phones when calling their lawyers. There's been nothing said to suggest they were ever denied that. Thursday, Judge Aquilina rescinded her order.
