At a meeting Monday night, Highfields board members voted to remove President and CEO Jim Hines.
Hines has been with Highfields for more than 28 years and has served as President for the last seven.
Highfields Board Chair Dr. Charles Corley announced Hines' removal at a news conference Tuesday. An interim President, most likely a current Highfields staff member, will be named soon.
Hines' removal follows two allegations of abuse by staff members at Highfields.
