Jackson Man Admits to Stealing From Red Cross

A Jackson man must pay more than $1,000 to the American Red Cross after he admits to stealing from the organization by posing as a hurricane Katrina victim.

Mark Miner pled guilty to one count of obtaining money by false pretenses. Miner admitted to taking over $1,500 from the Jackson chapter of the Red Cross.

He and his wife Jennifer moved from Mississippi to Jackson in June after their trailer was repossessed. The hurricane struck in August.

Miner's plea deal calls from him to serve 90 days in jail. His wife Jennifer has also been charged, and she has chosen to go to trial.
