The Bird Flu In Michigan

The bird flu could be headed straight for Michigan. Experts say due to the major bird migration paths crossing Michigan, our state is a likely place for the deadly strain to make an early appearance in the United States.

The bird flu has been slowly spreading from Asia, and is blamed for the deaths of more than one hundred humans and millions of birds.

Experts say migrating birds could bring the H5N1 strain from Asia to Alaska as soon as next month. From there... they say it could spread to the ducks, geese, and swans that migrate across the country, including Michigan.
