$2,500 Reward for Arrest of Pharmacy Robber

The Columbia Township Police Department and the Jackson County Tip Line are offering a cash reward of up to $2,500 for information leading to the arrest of the suspect believed to be responsible for a pharmacy robbery.

It happened around 3:30pm on Monday, December 22, 2012 at the Weatherwax Pharmacy located at 105 North Main Street in Brooklyn, Michigan.

Police say the suspect entered through the front door, went directly to the pharmacy area then displayed a handgun and pointed it at employees while he demanded controlled substances. The suspect fled out the front door after he was given an undetermined amount of Oxycontin.

The suspect is described as a white male, approximately 5' 6 to 5' 10",in his twenties, with a thin build. His face was concealed during the robbery.

"It's important for people to know that all information that we get is kept completely confidential. Callers never have to give their names or appear in court. The Jackson County Tip Line does not use any tape recording or caller ID devices," said Ric Walton.

The cash reward is donated by pharmaceutical company Purdue Pharma L.P., which operates RxPATROL®, a collaborative effort between industry, pharmacists and law enforcement to collect, collate, analyze and disseminate information on pharmacy theft.
