Recruits for the Michigan State Police and the Department of Natural Resources Conservation Officers took advantage of some warmer weather -- by plunging into icy water.
In all more than 100 recruits will be trained Friday in cold water rescue. They also jump into the water themselves, to experience the cold temperatures and learn to pull themselves out.
