Lansing Leaders Plan Peaceful Diversion on Day of Nazi Rally

Lansing leaders call it a proactive approach, an alternative event planned the same day and time of the April Nazi rally on the steps of the Capitol.

The rally is being organized by the National Socialist Movement, the same group whose presence provoked a riot in Toledo last October.

Mayor Virg Bernero and Police Chief Mark Alley announced the event at a news conference Wednesday. It will be held at Eastern High School in the Don Johnson Fieldhouse, more information about the event will be available later.
