The Michigan Attorney General’s Office says they are currently gathering information on a company they believe is using the Internet and the war to profit through fraud or deceptive business practices.
Officials would not yet release the Internet sight or the name of the for-profit business, but say the Detroit-based company claims to have some type of charitable link with the armed forces and plays on patriotism to do its business.
A spokesman for the attorney generals office says an official announcement on the business in question could come as early as the afternoon of Wednesday, April 6.
