Meridan Township Police issue a warning about a scam in Mid Michigan that takes advantage of parents.
Police say a caller posing as a police officer called a Meridan Township couple to tell them their son needed to be airlifted to a trauma center and their insurance would not cover the costs. The parent is then asked to give the caller a credit card number to cover the cost of the airlift.
Police remind parents again, to never give out personal information over the phone.
