The memory of Jasmine Miles lives on through a scholarship established in memory of the little girl killed while walking home from school.
In May of 2003, Jasmine Miles was hit and killed by two cars, while attempting to cross a busy Saint Joe highway after school. She was just 13-years-old.
The "Jasmine Miles Memorial Scholarship" will be awarded to a Waverly High School senior. To be eligible for the $1,000 award, the student must have a 2.5 grade point average, and a well rounded high school career with an emphasis on community service.
Applications are now available at the Waverly High School main office. The deadline to apply is April 17.
