Members of the Lansing police and fire departments gathered together Sunday for a Blue Mass service.
They call it a Blue Mass because both departments wear their uniforms to the service to see the faces of the community that they are there to protect.
The event is also a positive reminder of community support to local police and fire.
People of all backgrounds were welcome at the Church of the Resurrection in Lansing Sunday.
The Blue Mass was dedicated to living and deceased members of law enforcement, fire and emergency medical service.
