State Lawmakers Offer Help After Outages

State legislators are trying to help people affected by an ice storm that knocked out power for hundreds of thousands of people across mid-Michigan, some of whom are still awaiting restoration more than a week later.

Sen. Rick Jones (R-Grand Ledge) is proposing a bill that would toughen regulation on the Lansing Board of Water and Light.

Senate Minority Leader Gretchen Whitmer (D-East Lansing) has been taking calls at her office from constituents who haven't been able to get in touch with BWL and trying to find solutions to their power problems.
