GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- Police have arrested a Grand Rapids man suspected of striking a police officer with his vehicle while fleeing from a traffic stop.
Police say the driver was being stopped late Thursday when he pulled away, turned around in a driveway and drove at the officer.
Police say the officer fired two shots at the vehicle before being struck. The 24-year-old suspect then drove away but was arrested yesterday afternoon on the city's southeast side.
The officer was treated at a hospital for leg and head injuries before being released.
Kent County prosecutors plan to review the case today.
