Lansing School District Prepares to Search for New Superintendent

Lansing Schools Superintendent Dr. E. Sharon Banks will retire when her contract expires at the end of the 2006-2007 school year.

Board of Education President Guillermo Lopez tells News Ten a personnel committee has already begun reviewing practices from the last search for a Superintendent. Richard Halik retired from Lansing Schools in 2000.

Once the information is gathered, the board will have to approve a search committee, which will most likely look beyond the borders of the Lansing School District.
