General Motors will invest $545 million in five Michigan plants. Of that, Lansing Grand River Assembly will receive $138 million.

The money is being used to add more room to the body shop to make room for production of at least one new vehicle. Forty-seven new bays are being built for a total of 120,000 more square feet.

Construction is expected to wrap up sometime this summer.
