A woman was found dead in her north Lansing home late Thursday afternoon. Police say she was lying in a pool of her own blood.
Her son and sister made the grim discovery in a home in the 200 block of West Gier. The victim is identified as 50-year-old Valerie Mills. Her husband was not a home when her body was found.
At one time she was a food service worker at Otto Middle School, but has not worked since suffering a stroke.
Police have no motive, nor any suspects.
