LEONI TOWNSHIP, JACKSON CO - Over 40 pounds of processed marijuana was confiscated from a former medical marijuana dispensary and a home in Jackson County Wednesday.

Jackson Narcotics Enforcement Team (JNET), a special narcotics unit in Jackson County, raided the Sweet Greens dispensary on Fifth Street in Leoni Township's Michigan Center. JNET also served a warrant at the home of the dispensary's owners.

At Sweet Greens they found 20 pounds of processed marijuana and several marijuana plants. 20 more pounds and over 40 marijuana plants were found at the home of the couple who owns the dispensary. Five-to-six ounces of hashish were also discovered in the couple's possession.

Law enforcement officials say this amount of marijuana went way beyond what medical marijuana patients or caregivers are allowed to posses, which is 12 plants and 2 ounces of processed marijuana. Hashish is not allowed at all.

JNET said they had been investigating the site for months, and undercover officers had been able to buy marijuana there.
Charges will be sought against the husband and wife. Their child was also present at the time of the raid, and child protective services was called to evaluate the child's welfare.
