SUPERIOR TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) -- A man suspected in the death of a 23-year-old Washtenaw County woman was released on parole just three days before the fatal stabbing.
MLive.com reports that the man hasn't been charged yet in the death of Shandar Turner, but the incident triggered an immediate arrest for a parole violation.
Turner was found Friday on the steps of her home in Superior Township where she lived with twin 4-year-old boys. Police say the suspect and Turner knew each other.
State records show the 35-year-old suspect had been in prison since 2002 for robbery and a weapons-related crime while behind bars.
