Handwriting Skills Now Being Taught Through Technology

Handwriting is no longer part of some elementary school curriculums. Many schools have adopted Common Core State Standards (CCSS), which focus on the use of technology to produce and publish writing, and include the development of keyboarding skills.

Students are encouraged to practice both handwriting and keyboarding at home. There are a variety of websites and apps available to assist with skill development that can easily be found through a web search or through an application store on a mobile device.
