GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (AP) -- Authorities say a Kentwood man has been fatally shot in Grand Rapids.
According to a statement from Grand Rapids police, 42-year-old Rick Hammad was struck at 11:50 p.m. Friday. He was taken to Mercy Health St. Mary's Hospital, where he died from his injuries.
When officers arrived, they found Hammad lying near his car.
Police say there are no suspects in the shooting.
The Grand Rapids police department's major case team is investigating.
