LANSING - The five suspects accused in the shooting of a woman in her home on Mary Avenue in Lansing Wednesday faced a judge Friday. Four of the five suspects were charged with assault with intent to murder. as well as multiple felony weapons crimes.
One of the five is an 18-year-old woman. She was not charged with assault with intent to murder. She was apparently driving the car the group was in. She is charged with fleeing a police officer, accessory after the fact, and a weapons charge.
The shooting took place at about 1:30p.m. Wednesday. Multiple shots were fired into a home in the 1300 block of Mary Avenue on the city's southwest side. A bullet went through the outer wall and struck a woman in her leg. The wound is non-life-threatening.
Police soon stopped a car on nearby Hillcrest Street. Three of those suspects ran from police but were quickly run down and captured. Two were arrested at the car.
