LCC President Resigns

Paula Cunningham submitted her resignation Wednesday during a special meeting of the Board of Trustees. Board members voted 5-2 to accept her resignation.

Cunningham stepping down as President of Lansing Community College follows weeks of tension between the Administration and Board of Trustees.

Mark Canady, Trustee, believes Cunningham was forced out.
Board Chair Chris Laverty says he's surprised by what happened Wednesday.

Cunningham will receive one full years pay, medical benefits and credits towards retirement.

Just hours after her tearful goodbye, Governor Granholm announced Cunningham will succeed David Hollister as Director of the State's Department of Labor and Economic Growth.
