MASON - A small plane goes off the runway and nose down during take-off at the Mason Jewett Airport Thursday afternoon. The accident happened at around 3:20P.M. The pilot of the single engine aircraft was the only person on board. He refused medical treatment.
Authorities have not released the cause of the accident.
The plane's nose dipped into the ground, causing minor damage to the propeller and nose gear. There was also a small fuel leak.
The runway was closed for about 1 1/2 hours during the investigation.
The Ingham County Sheriff's Office, Mason Fire Department and Mason Police Department all responded to the incident.
