Domino's Pizza executive David Brandon will head the campaign by Republican Dick DeVos to unseat Governor Jennifer Granholm.
Brandon says he wants to help the Kent County businessman improve his ties to vote-heavy southeast Michigan.
Brandon lives in Ann Arbor and serves on several nonprofit boards in the Detroit area, including Detroit Renaissance and The Parade Company, which produces Detroit's annual Thanksgiving Day parade.
Former Detroit Mayor Dennis Archer was Granholm's campaign chairman until he stepped down in early December. Campaign spokesman Chris De Witt says the campaign may not name a replacement.
The 53-year-old Brandon also is running for re-election to the University of Michigan Board of Regents seat he first won in 1998.
