Michigan Earns High Emergency Medical Care Marks

Michigan ranks sixth best in the nation, one full grade above the national average, when it comes to emergency medical care.

In the first ever National Report Card on the State of Emergency Medicine, Michigan received a B-. Access to emergency care, quality and patient safety, public health and injury prevention and medical liability environment were looked scrutinized to compile the overall grade. Michigan received its lowest mark, a D-, in the Medical Liability area.

The American College of Emergency Physicians gathered the information and scored the states.
