Former CIA agent Jim Marcinkowski has launched his bid to win the Democratic nomination for the 8th Congressional district and the right to challenge GOP incumbent Mike Rogers next fall. The current deputy city attorney for Royal Oak is not likely to have any primary opposition.
This marks his first foray into statewide politics. Marcinkowski says he is a former Republican but the GOP "left me." He blames Rogers for the areas economic problems and contends he will attempt to "wrap" Rogers in the unfolding lobbyist scandal in Washington D.C. although he says he has no evidence of wrongdoing by Rogers.
